We are seeking an outstanding Scientist/Senior Scientist/Team Leader to join our R&D team to establish capability around oncology clinical trial biomarkers and bladder cancer diagnostic biomarkers. Description
- Evaluate ongoing clinical trial biomarker strategy and ensure satisfactory execution, in close collaboration with Asieris’ discovery biology team and clinical team
- Propose and execute bladder cancer diagnostic biomarker research and development
- Provide strategic input toward clinical biomarkers and conduct biomarker discovery and validation work to support upcoming clinical programs
- Establish expertise in relevant methodologies such as gene mutational analysis, tissue/cell immunohistochemistry, blood cell flow cytometry, and serum bioanalytical methods
- Oversee and work closely with CROs, pathologists, bioinformaticists, biostatisticians, and other functions to execute data generation and analysis
- Summarize and efficiently communicate biomarker-related data to the project team, management, and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences with a minimum of 2-5 years of biomarker drug discovery experience in an industrial setting
- Expertise in immunohistochemistry and diagnostic biomarker preferred
- Proficiency with large-scale genomic sequencing data analysis

We are seeking an outstanding Principal/Senior Protein Scientist to join our new research team. The level of the position will be commensurate with the qualifications of selected candidate.
- Contribute to defining the biotherapeutic discovery strategy at Asieris, and drive its execution by leading efforts on discovery, engineering and optimization of antibody, ADC and other large molecule therapeutics.
- Implement technical competencies such as protein/antigen expression and purification, antibody discovery and characterization, antibody engineering, protein conjugation, and quality assessments / analytics, to enable project progression.
- Work closely with Chemistry and Biology teams to create workflows and generate reagents required for drug discovery programs. Communicate plans and results proficiently with multiple functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Build and lead a team of protein scientists and biochemists, and help set up laboratory functionality.
- Manage external collaborators and CROs.
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, biophysics or related disciplines with a minimum of 5 years of postdoc or large molecule drug discovery experience. Candidates with BS or MS degree and extensive industrial experience will be considered as well. Relevant industry experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional laboratory skills, with demonstrated proficiency in protein or antibody-drug conjugate biochemistry, engineering, production or analytics.
- Hands-on experience and/or up-to-date knowledge on relevant scientific development and technology capabilities.
- Demonstrated scientific productivity as evidenced by a strong record of high-impact publications, patent applications, and/or pipeline accomplishments.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Discovery Biology and Translational Biomarker team. The successful candidate will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team in US and China, facilitating drug developmental efforts and cancer diagnostic biomarker efforts. Your responsibilities shall include:
- Study and manage DNA sequencing data from clinical trials
- Work with Biologists to use external and internal datasets to discover ideas and test hypotheses
- Help to develop quantitative methods for various types of large-scale datasets, for example, RNA-Seq data, IHC imaging data, proteomics data, etc.
- Provide biostatistical support to discovery projects
- Effectively present complex analyses and results in a clear and concise manner to a diverse audience of scientists
Requirements
- PhD/MS in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or similar area of study, or BS with 4+ years of relevant experience in an industrial or academic setting working with genetics data and underlying technologies

We are currently building a new Discovery Biology team located in the San Francisco Bay area in USA. We are seeking outstanding Research associates or Senior Research associates to join our new research team. The US team will focus on innovative research for the discovery of new drug targets and the development of therapeutics in Asieris’ niche indications.
- Help set up lab functionality and operation
- Execute in vitro assays to study mechanism of action of drugs; Immunology and oncology assays will be our initial focus
- Design, troubleshoot, validate, and implement biochemical and cell-based assays to support drug discovery and selection
- Conduct ex vivo pharmacodynamic marker or biomarker discovery work as needed
- Interpret, record, and present complex biological data
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with colleagues
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in biological sciences with at least one year of lab experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with cell and biochemical assays, molecular biology, and mammalian cell culture techniques
- Experience with primary immune cell functional assay and flow cytometry is a big plus
- Industry experience with ranking compounds in assays is a plus

Job Summary
The Head of Toxicology will be part of the Preclinical Development group supporting small molecule drug development at Asieris and will provide scientific expertise and leadership to the safety assessment of all Asieris programs. The candidate is expected to work in a highly collaborative team environment, playing a pivotal role at each stage of preclinical and early clinical development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide expert support, guidance and strategy on project safety assessments, with a specific focus on discovery & IND-stage small molecule projects.
- Serve as the key resource for toxicology, providing scientific knowledge and expertise to cross-functional project teams.
- Develop overall toxicology strategy and plans for lead candidates based on clinical development plan.
- Oversee preclinical toxicology studies at multiple external Contract Research Organizations (CRO).
- Design & execute investigative toxicology studies, based upon off & on-target safety profiles of the candidate drugs.
- Initiate appropriate processes for contract implementation, protocol development, and timeline optimization for toxicology studies.
• Monitor toxicology studies for appropriate conduct, accuracy and timely execution; audit raw data for accuracy, review draft reports and finalize them as submission-ready documents for regulatory authorities. - Proactively respond to study issues and resolve problems with study director.
- Internal and external communication
- Prepare verbal and written summaries for internal discussions. Work with the Preclinical Development team to develop optimal strategies to address specific safety issues and partner with project teams.
- Review and/or author toxicology and/or safety pharmacology sections of various regulatory documents (e.g., pre-IND briefing documents, INDs, IBs etc.) and ensure their regulatory compliance.
- Represent company at meetings with regulatory agencies.
- Present summary data to project teams and Asieris senior leadership.
Education & Experience
Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pathology, Physiology, Biochemistry or expertise in related biological science disciplines, with an emphasis on Oncology/Immunology is preferred. Ph.D.; Board Certification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology (ACVP) and Board Certification in Toxicology (DABT) is highly desired.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in toxicology small molecule drug development in Biotech/Pharma industry.
- Experience in filing multiple INDs is a must; experience in filing NDAs will be a plus.
- An in-depth understanding of toxicology and/or toxicologic pathology, and have experience designing and critically evaluating results of exploratory and GLP-compliant toxicology studies.
- Experience in supporting project team as toxicology representative.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Additional expertise in specific toxicology areas, e.g. developmental & reproductive systems toxicology, endocrine systems toxicology, Toxico-kinetics/Toxico-dynamics simulation analyses etc., is a strong plus.
